大卫也说，愿他们的筵席变为网罗，变为机槛，变为绊脚石，作他们的报应。
And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
我且说，他们失脚是要他们跌倒吗。断乎不是。反倒因他们的过失，救恩便临到外邦人，要激动他们发愤。
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
若他们的过失，为天下的富足，他们的缺乏，为外邦人的富足。何况他们的丰满呢。
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
或者可已激动我骨肉之亲发愤，好救他们一些人。
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
所献的新面，若是圣洁，全团也就圣洁了。树根若是圣洁，树枝也就圣洁了。
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
你就不可向旧枝子夸口，若是夸口，当知道不是你托着根，乃是根托着你。
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
你若说，那枝子被折下来，是特为叫我接上。
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
不错。他们因为不信，所以被折下来。你因为信，所以立得住。你不可自高，反要惧怕。
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
可见神的恩慈，和严厉。向那跌倒的人，是严厉的。向你是有恩慈的，只要你长久在他的恩慈里。不然，你也要被砍下来。
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
而且他们若不是长久不信，仍要被接上。因为神能够把他们从新接上。
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
